A wonderful week!

I arrived at Villa Safir apprehensive about completing my four open water dives. With Peter’s patient and effective instruction I became a certified Open Water Diver! The one-on-one dives with Peter provided me with ample time to absorb what I was learning and to practice important skills.

I appreciated Peter’s continued assessment of my improvements (or lack thereof!) throughout the week. His attention and interest in my diving abilities added to my confidence. My husband and I also enjoyed Peter’s practice “drills” for improving our buoyancy control.

By the end of the week I had grown to LOVE diving, logging 14 dives and 11 hours, including one night dive (a lot for a “newbie”), and I can’t wait to get back underwater!

Villa Safir is a clean, comfortable, and relaxed home. Breakfast was always good, made-to-order, and plentiful. Sunsets by the pool overlooking the garden were ideal. Full tanks were always available, and loading, unloading, and cleaning gear was effortless with the convenient location of rinse tanks and storage lockers.

A 10-minute drive to downtown, Villa Safir is an ideal place for those wanting a hassle-free getaway, personal attention, and privacy with immediate access to everything.

Bianca and Peter,

A very special thank you to you both for being such gracious, wonderful hosts in April.

We loved your home, the view and your beautiful island. Peter, you made diving such an easy, wonderful experience - even for a "nervous" Kathy. It was definitely the most comfortable diving I have experienced--from the moment you brought our dive equipment so quickly when we got there; easy, fun boat dives (except maybe "the music"...ha!). Jay and I both enjoyed our night dive as well.

Of course, the "sea horse" was a highlight for Kathy.

Bianca, thank you for our morning breakfasts and your quiet, caring ways to make the stay great. The BarBQ night was so fun and delicious - thank you.

If you ever find yourself in Colorado, please know you are most welcome to stay with us.

Blessings and best wishes. Kathy and Jay Montgomery

There is nothing negative to say about the Villa Safir, and its hosts - Peter, Bianca and Tara. This was our first trip to Bonaire, and it will not be our last. We absolutely loved the B&B. We stayed one week at VS, and then rented an apartment the second week. It was a huge mistake and next time we will spend the entire vacation at the B&B.

We stayed in the honeymoon suite, which was perfect. The gentle breeze over the hilltop meant that we didn't need to use air conditioning once during our stay. The room was exceptionally clean and well maintained, as was the whole property.

Peter and Bianca are gracious hosts and make you feel very welcome in their home. Biancas breakfasts and poolside barbecue were amazing. Peter is very helpful with dive guidance and was always giving us great tips and ideas for places to dive. We went to several restaurants that they recommended (local fare) and had no complaints.

We can't wait to go back and we know that with all of the great reviews that the B&B is receiving we will have to book well in advance!

Thank you Peter and Bianca - you are amazing!

My husband and I just returned from another amazing stay at Villa Safir. This was our 3rd trip to Bonaire and our 2nd stay at the bed and breakfast. Despite having stayed for 15 nights, we feel it was still not enough. Sure the diving was great, it is Bonaire after all, but Peter and Bianca made our vacation so much more memorable. We can not imagine staying anywhere else.

From the moment we stepped off the plane, collected our bags and saw Peter waiting for us we knew we were home again. Staying at Villa Safir is not like staying at a hotel. It is not even like staying at a bed and breakfast. It is like staying at a friends house. Even if it is your first time to Villa Safir both Peter and Bianca and their adorable dog Tara will make you feel welcome.

You will start your day with breakfast that Bianca skillfully prepares for you. From there the options are limitless. Peter always has full tanks ready for you to go shore diving 24 hours a day, or if you would like to go for a boat dive he will happily take you on his new boat. And there are no time crunches - it is only guests from Villa Safir so there is no rush on vacation. We also highly recommend having Bianca take you on a guided dive of Salt Pier. You must have a guide to do this dive and it is amazing! Tons of fish, coral and octopus...

And let me tell you about the rum punch sunset and BBQ nights. We were lucky enough to stay for 2 of these and they were both over the top. One word of advise: do not eat all day - you will be sooooooooooooo full of really good food!

Another couple accompanied us this year and also stayed at Villa Safir. It was great to be able to share such a special place for us with them. Lots of great memories!

Do not think twice about staying at Villa Safir!!! Peter and Bianca - please just leave a room available for us.

My niece Merridith just returned from a week long stay at the Villa Safir in Bonaire and felt like we were the smartest people in the world to:
1. Pick Bonaire to begin with (it is magical and hard to describe how amazing it is).
2. Find the Villa Safir and take advantage of their Dive and Breakfast and Rum Punch dinners package.
3. Commit to a full week of vacation for no apparent reason other than diving and relaxing.

Peter and Bianca and Tara's home in Bonaire has the most beautiful view on the island. We made it a point to try to be back at the villa so we can all enjoy the sunset together with our rum punches. I can't guarantee that you will anywhere near as much fun as we did, were as pampered as we were, or dive as many amazing dives as we did, but I will guarantee that you will LOVE the Villa Safir. Peter and Bianca are highly knowledgeable, resourceful, and funny. They also have one of my favorite dogs on the planet, Tara. If you go there please throw the ball to her for me, and get it from the bottom of the pool if she drops it in there. ALSO, don't feel rushed to get up to eat breakfast, it is so peaceful in the rooms with the birds singing and the island breezes and Bianca will make you a great breakfast no matter when you wake up. (OK< by 10:30, but there is always fruit and granola in the fridge if you can't get up before then.)

Also, if you are feeling adventurous, ask Bianca to take you on a guided night dive. It was unreal.

Bon Bini!

Peter and Bianca have the Bonaire vacation experience perfected at Villa Safir! The many wonderful details that Peter and Bianca incorporated made a huge impact on how relaxing, enjoyable, and truly memorable our stay and diving experience was. Some of our favorite memories from Villa Safir include: conversations with Peter and Bianca at breakfast (along with the pancakes and fresh fruit), the checkout dive with Peter (What a great 1st dive on Bonaire! We saw an amazing amount and variety of fish including a spotted eagle ray, spotted moray eels, squid, spawning creole wrasse, and various angelfish and parrot fish. Thanks to Peter for the many tips and tricks that made our other dives on Bonaire very easy, relaxing, and so much fun!), the rinse tanks and lockers for our gear (a rare luxury at a bed and breakfast), the BBQ at sunset (Between the spectacular sunset, getting to know Peter and Bianca better, and the exquisite meal that Peter and Bianca cooked, the entire BBQ experience was wonderful!), the night dive at the Town Pier with Bianca, swimming in the pool and playing with Tara, fun boat dives, gazing out over the city at night while filling out our dive logs from all of the amazing dives we did (Some of our favorite shore dives include Andrea II, Angel City, Invisibles, and Karpata.), eating dinner in town based on Bianca's suggestions (Some of our favorite restaurants were La Guernica, Peruvian Grill, and Pasa Bon Pizza), and enjoying the amazing views of Bonaire from the Villa. This was such a fun and relaxing vacation! We can’t wait to return to Villa Safir!

Let’s face it. Most travelers go to Bonaire for the diving. And if you are divers, like me and my husband, the logical choice for where to stay would seem to be right on the island’s shores.

I’m so glad we resisted this urge and stayed at the Villa Safir. The property’s owners, Peter and Bianca, are dive aficionados and share their guests’ passion for exploring Bonaire’s underwater treasures. They have expertly organized their B&B to meet divers’ needs. From the lockers and rinse tanks, to the bottles of water and beach towels made available daily, divers are catered to at Villa Safir. Peter and Bianca also generously share their knowledge about Bonaire’s many dive sites, making recommendations—including dive plans—to meet skill levels and interests. And the property’s just a 5 minute drive from the beach.

Sure, lots of places on Bonaire cater to divers. So what makes Villa Safir so special? The hospitality. The wonderful breakfast. The well-appointed private rooms and comfortable beds. The amazing views of the ocean, Klein Bonaire, and (if you time your day right) the setting sun. The intimate and relaxing feel of Villa Safir.

Even if diving isn’t your idea of holiday, and you are just looking for an island escape, Villa Safir is the place to stay.

We have done a lot of travelling, but have never felt so welcome and at home as at Villa Safir in Bonaire.
We have stayed with Peter and Bianca multiple times and their hospitality is second to none. You will be very well taken care of, from enjoying fresh, delicious breakfasts and very comfortable, clean rooms, to service for all of your snorkeling and diving needs. Their warmth and friendliness, as well as their helpfulness in the planning of any activity, contibutes to a most relaxing holiday for their guests. Fresh towels and filled water bottles are always ready for packing up for your daily outings.

There are many activities on Bonaire, but in the morning it can be difficult to pull yourself away from the smooth coffee, the pool, and their spectacular view! Tara, their funloving dog, will be more than happy to keep you company and remind you that napping is important.
Day or night, the villa offers the most beautiful view of the town of Kralendijk, the ocean, and Klein Bonaire.
Peter and Bianca's sunset rum punch barbecue is an enormous delicious feast and is always a memorable evening of laughter and fun.

For divers, Peter will always have your tanks ready right at the villa. You don't need to load up your gear and then run down to a dive shop to pick up tanks. Once you leave the villa, you are prepared to drive directly to your chosen dive site.

Peter and Bianca are experienced divers and excellent guides. You don't have to worry about them shortening your dive. You will run out of bottom time before they run out of air.

Everyone planning a trip to Bonaire should experience a stay at Villa Safir.
You will love it, as we always do, and even before you leave, possible return dates will be running through your mind! We fell in love with the island of Bonaire and owe much of our happiness and comfort there to our time spent with Peter and Bianca.
They are two of the most sincere, fun, and wonderful people we've ever met and feel privileged to call them our friends.

My wife and I stayed at Villa Safir in early Oct 2007 for our honeymoon. I left a lengthy review on Trip Advisor but am just now getting around to posting this. What was initially supposed to be a week on a Windjammer cruise (which was cancelled three days prior to the sail date) turned into a last minute stay at Villa Safir. Within minutes of our arrival, our disappointment about the cruise turned into feelings of complete happiness. The beauty of the resort is surpassed only by the graciousness and friendliness of Peter and Bianca. We immediately felt like we were staying at a friend's house and would have been completely content sitting with them and their great dog Tara by the pool all week. Bonaire itself is a wonderful place and the diving is out of this world, but our fondest memories of that week involve our two hosts. Like the other tesimonial said, if you want to stay in a place that feels like home, stay at Villa Safir. Not sure when we will be able to get back, but we won't be going unless we are staying with them. I really can't say enough good things about the hosts or the beautiful home. Book it!

My husband and I just returned from 2 wonderful weeks on Bonaire. Last year we stayed with Ester and Menno at The Deep Blue View. When we tried to book another stay with them this year they were unable to accommodate us for our entire stay. They suggested Villa Safir. We were originally very disappointed that we would not be staying at DBV for the full 2 weeks because of our amazing time last year. But, once we arrived at Villa Safir all our disappointment quickly vanished. Peter and Bianca are both great hosts. From the very first night we really felt like we were staying at a friends house.

Both Peter and Bianca gave us great tips on dive sites we missed on our last trip, suggestions on where to eat (although we mostly at at Pasa Bon Pizza!!), and always made us feel comfortable. Bianca makes wonderful breakfasts and our night dive with her at the Town Pier was incredible! Peter kept our tanks full and was always making us laugh - especially on our boat dives and late night sitting around the table. The rum punch sunset and BBQ was sooo much fun too - we had a great time socializing with our hosts as well as other guests.

Villa Safir is very convenient for anyone who wants to dive, snorkel or just relax. The gear lockers are close to where you park your car and very roomy. The rinse tanks are always full with clean water and there are more than enough tanks to keep you happy. They have a lovely garden with shade trees and a hammock and table. The pool area is just the right size with plenty of lounge chairs and the view is the best - we were able to see Curacao on a couple of occasions!! They also have a refrigerator for guests to put leftovers, lunch items, or in our case - beer and rum!

If you are looking for a crowded, generic, rushed, on some elses schedule type place than Vila Safir is not for you. But, if you are looking for a beautiful, unique, unhurried, away from the crowds type place then I suggest you book your trip now because they fill up fast!!!

Our vacation was unbelievably memorable and we feel that a big part of that is because of our stay at Vila Safir. We already miss Peter and Bianca and of course their adorable dog, Tara and can not wait until next year!
